Global Data Synchronization (GDS)
Global Data Synchronization helps keep trading partners in sync by ensuring product data, such as the category and description stored by one company, matches the data stored by their trading partners. Organizations submit their product data in a specified format to data pools around the globe for validation against a global registry allowing changes to be flagged immediately to all connected retailers and manufactures. Companies who subscribe to the GDS initiative and publish their product information to the data pools will need to make sure that the data is in the set format and is of the required quality to exchange with any third party.
GS1 offers standards-conformant, interoperable data pool services within the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) providing the ability for trading partners to synchronize item and party data with the Global Registry. Working closely with Microsoft, Cactus has developed Cactus GDS Accelerator for BizTalk – to help Consumer Goods Manufacturers and Retailers take full advantage of the power of the Global Registry through the 1SYNC and Agentrics Synchronization Services. Utilizing the robust integration capabilities of BizTalk Server 2004, Cactus GDS Accelerator for BizTalk provides a cost-effective way to quickly connect to 1SYNC (formerly UCCnet™ and Transora), manage communications with trading partners, and integrate real-time data into existing product management systems.
