Cactus Solutions Drive Chip Ganassi Racing on the Road to Greatness

NASCAR and IRL racing teams to achieve winning performance through RFID Technology

OTTAWA, ONTARIO and TAIPEI, TAIWAN — September 10, 2007 — Chip Ganassi Racing Teams, Inc., winners of seven championships and over 85 races across six different touring series including, stock cars, IndyCars and sports cars, will be using the Cactus RFID Track and Trace solution built on BizTalk Server 2006 R2 to accelerate the performance of their high-speed race cars using real-time, actionable intelligence, Cactus Commerce announced today.

Cactus Commerce is leveraging its expertise in building solutions for RFID on the BizTalk Server 2006 R2 platform to track and trace precision parts inventory, as well as to monitor the wear and points of failure for these components.

“The highly competitive world of auto racing demands performance, agility and precision - From the driver, as well as from the car and crew that support them,” said Chip Ganassi Racing’s Vice President of Marketing, Dan Griffis. “By providing real-time visibility into the condition of the car’s components, RFID technology is enabling our crews to optimize the car’s performance during the race and minimize costly pit stops.”

By getting the most out of the vehicle and by replacing parts before they fail on the race track, the team that runs cars in both NASCAR and open wheel racing can put the pedal to the metal and win even more races.

“We are excited about our partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing because it is all about speed, peak performance, and competing for greatness,” said Jean-Yves Martineau, CTO and Founder of Cactus Commerce. “We share this passion for constant innovation at the speed of racing to drive more value for our customers and partners so that they may achieve their goals, whether they include crossing the finish line first, or leading the market in which they compete.”

“Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 enables customers like Chip Ganassi Racing to use intelligent RFID data to streamline their race performance,” said Steven Martin, Director of the Connected Systems Division at Microsoft Corp. “We are pleased to work with Cactus commerce to help customers connect RFID data to systems and people that can help them to make better decisions faster.”

Cactus Commerce, Microsoft’s 2007 Number 1 worldwide partner of the year for business process and integration, will be participating in the global BizTalk Server RFID launch activities being held this week, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan.
