Cactus Commerce End-to-End Supply Chain Solutions Utilize Upcoming BizTalk Server 2006 R2
Manufacturing and Retail customers to benefit from new extended supply chain functionality via RFID and EDI capabilities
OTTAWA, ON and NASHVILLE, TN – June 6, 2006 – Cactus Commerce Inc., a leading
provider of software and services for e-business, today announced at the 2006 U Connect
Conference that their end-to-end Supply Chain Solutions will make optimal use of the new
RFID and EDI capabilities in the upcoming release of Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2.
This news coincides with Microsoft Corp.’s announcement as well as Cactus’ exhibit and
interactive demonstrations in Booth #406 at the U Connect Conference being held this week,
from June 6 – 8 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville,
Tennessee.
“Cactus Commerce solutions offer vertical, application-level functionality designed to work in
conjunction with Microsoft technologies such as BizTalk Server and Commerce Server to
facilitate the flow of goods from the point of fabrication to consumption,” said Jean-Yves
Martineau, CTO and Co-Founder of Cactus Commerce. “With the addition of native
support for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and AS2 standards, as well as radio frequency
identification (RFID) capabilities in the new BizTalk Server 2006 R2, customers can manage
and communicate RFID data both internally as well as externally with trading partners,
extending the reach of their existing business processes to improve supply chain efficiency.”
U Connect Attendees will witness first-hand how Cactus and Microsoft technology enables an
end-to-end supply chain solution for Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods Manufacturers with
Global Data Synchronization (GDS), RFID and EDI. The demo in Cactus Booth #406 will
showcase Cactus GDS Accelerator for BizTalk Server 2006 (a 1SYNC and Agentrics-Certified
solution), Cactus Trade Server and Cactus RFID Framework.
“Linking mission-critical business processes outside of the organization is often too hard and
too complex today, leading to missed opportunities that can affect the bottom line,” said
Burley Kawasaki, group product manager for BizTalk Server product management at
Microsoft. “The new capabilities in BizTalk Server 2006 R2 will further enable businesses to
connect their business processes to the right device, the right information and the right
trading partner.”
